What is 0xDoktor?
0xDoktor is an embeddable AI chat widget that you add to your website or web application. When users ask questions, the widget answers using only the documentation, FAQs, and content your team has uploaded and approved — never from generic internet knowledge.
This makes 0xDoktor fundamentally different from a generic AI chatbot. It will not answer questions it does not have sources for. It will not invent plausible-sounding information. If the answer is not in your knowledge base, 0xDoktor says so.

What makes 0xDoktor different from ChatGPT or other AI assistants?
General-purpose AI assistants are trained on broad internet data. They are designed to answer any question, which means they often generate confident-sounding answers that are factually incorrect for your specific context.
0xDoktor does not know anything about your company except what you tell it. It retrieves answers from your documents using semantic search, then generates a response grounded in those sources. This architecture — called Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) — means every answer can be traced back to a specific document you own.
If a user asks something outside your knowledge base, 0xDoktor acknowledges it does not have a reliable answer. This is a feature, not a limitation.
What content formats does 0xDoktor support?
You can ingest:

- Web pages (via URL)
- Plain text files
Each piece of content is chunked, embedded, and stored in your private vector database. When users ask questions, 0xDoktor retrieves the most semantically relevant chunks and uses them to compose an answer.
Is 0xDoktor hosted or self-hosted?
0xDoktor is a hosted SaaS product. Your knowledge base, widget configuration, and conversation data are managed on 0xDoktor's infrastructure. You interact with your tenant through the admin dashboard at admin.0xdoktor.com.
Self-hosted options are available for enterprise customers with data residency requirements.
